Acetal (Delrin & Celcon) Balls

Acetal balls offer predictable mechanical, chemical and electrical properties over a broad temperature range. Natural lubricity gives them a low coefficient of friction against metals. Most resins meet FDA, USDA and UL requirements. Used in pump, valve, slide and rolling applications. Also known as polyoxymethylene (POM) and polyacetal.
Chemistry
Specific Gravity: 1.41-1.42 gm/cc
Hardness: R119-122 (hardest plastic type)
Also known as: POM, Polyacetal
Brand names: Delrin (DuPont), Celcon (Hoechst Celanese)
Characteristics
Low coefficient of friction against metals. Excellent dimensional stability. Very low moisture absorption. Good fatigue and impact resistance. Natural lubricity. Meets FDA, USDA and UL requirements.
Corrosion Resistance
Good chemical resistance across a broad temperature range.
Typical Hardness
Rockwell R119-122. Hardest of all plastic ball types.
Ball Sizes
Available in sizes 1/16″ to 2.0″.
Available in grades 0 through IV (inch and metric). Finishes: matte, rough, polished.

Lead Times
-
Standard in-stock components are available for immediate shipment. Lead times for non-stock and custom orders are determined based on specific part size, material, and required quantity.
-
Hartford Technologies specializes in high-volume production runs and industrial applications. We have a $400 minimum order value for all standard in-stock bearing balls. For custom-engineered parts and assemblies, the minimum is determined by the complexity and volume of the specific requirement.
