Hartford Technologies supplies chrome steel balls manufactured from the highest quality 52100 alloy electric furnace steel, through-hardened for maximum strength and service life. Known globally as 52100 (US), 100Cr6 (Europe), SUJ2 (Japan), and GCr15 (China). Available in sizes from 1mm to 50.8mm in ABMA grades 25 through 1000.

Chrome steel is a bearing grade alloy steel with high hardness, exceptional wear resistance, and excellent surface characteristics. Manufactured from the highest quality chrome alloy electric furnace steel and through-hardened for maximum strength and service life. SPC process assures the highest dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Chemistry
Carbon (C): 0.95 – 1.10%
Chromium (CR): 1.30 – 1.60%
Characteristics
High hardness, resistance to deformation, and excellent wear characteristics. Through-hardened for maximum strength and service life.
Corrosion Resistance
Limited corrosion resistance. Typically requires controlled environments or lubrication to prevent oxidation.
Typical Hardness
Rockwell C 60-67, enabling high load-bearing performance and long service life.
Ball Sizes
Available in sizes from 1/32″ (1mm) to 2″ (50.8mm) in ABMA grades 10 through 1000.
