Characteristics
Achieves hardness following heat treatment: Rockwell C 58-62. Passivated. Hartford proprietary grade exclusively available from Hartford Technologies.
Corrosion Resistance
Excellent resistance to mild acids, alkalis, foods, fresh water, and air. Superior performance in high-corrosion environments vs standard 440C.
Typical Hardness
Rockwell C 58-62 measured on parallel flats.
Ball Sizes
Available in sizes from 1mm to 50.8mm in grades 10 through 1000.
Industries Using Corrtech, AISI-440C Grade Steel
Precision Bearings (antifriction bearings in high-corrosion environments), Industrial Pumps and Valves (actuators, pumps where corrosion is a primary concern), Chemical Processing (aggressive corrosive environments requiring maximum hardness)
Grades: 10 to 1000 | Hartford proprietary — not available elsewhere
-
Industrial and Manufacturing
Antifriction bearings, couplings, grinding media, conveyors, casters, industrial equipment
-
Chemical Processing
Photographic chemicals, inks, textile bleaches, dye stuffs, sulphuric and phosphoric acid equipment
-
Pumps and Valves
Check valves, pump seats, actuators, quick-disconnect couplings, plug balls
-
Precision Bearings
Rolling element bearings, antifriction bearings, high-load bearing applications requiring max hardness
Lead Times
-
Standard in-stock components are available for immediate shipment. Lead times for non-stock and custom orders are determined based on specific part size, material, and required quantity.
-
Hartford Technologies specializes in high-volume production runs and industrial applications. We have a $400 minimum order value for all standard in-stock bearing balls. For custom-engineered parts and assemblies, the minimum is determined by the complexity and volume of the specific requirement.
