Q: What types of bearing assemblies does Hartford Technologies produce?
A: Virtually all of the bearings that Hartford Technologies manufactures are custom bearings that are sold only to one customer, for one specific application. Also, one of the great advantages of our Asian manufacturing is the low tooling cost that allows us to introduce custom parts at relatively low volumes and low startup costs.
Q: What materials are most common?
A: Races – chrome steel, 440 stainless steel, plastics (polyamide, acetal)
Cages / retainers / sleeves – steel, brass, stainless steel, polyamide, polyetheretherketone (PEEK), phenolic resin
Balls – chrome steel, 440 stainless steel, 300 series stainless steel, glass
Rollers – chrome steel, 440 stainless steel
