Thrust Bearings
Hartford Technologies’ Thrust Bearings are used where axial loads are exerted from either direction.
Key thrust bearing components include retainer or cage and rolling elements (balls or rollers). In many thrust bearings, two hardened steel washers function as raceways and are also part of the bearing. Sometimes this collection of parts is pre-assembled and in other applications these components come together only as the thrust bearing is integrated into the larger assembly. Standard ball or roller material is bearing grade chrome steel.
Hartford Technologies thrust bearings utilize rollers that will offer a higher load carrying capability than a thrust bearing with balls. With rollers, there is a theoretical line of contact vs. point contact with balls.
Thrust Bearing applications include:
- Boring mill table
- Automotive A/C compressor
- Agricultural equipment
- Clutch release mechanism
- Automotive, aircraft, marine
